Regarding the seeming lack of military supplies in Haiti, consider that our military is sustaining two wars half-way around the world. That's where our military supplies and personnel are concentrated. In our current situation, it would be irresponsible for our military to routinely sequester excess supplies and personnel in the Caribbean. Supplies must come from US bases, which are also running light.

Perhaps we need more contractors. Xe Haiti, anyone?
