Great chat, although with Apple I'd have to say I'm willing to pay 5x for my next computer just to avoid MS Vista. In fact MS Vista is so bad we have people at work buying their own Mac's just to get some work done. And the IT dept which used to put up a big stink about that is starting to say no problem since they can't keep up with the workload or complaints that Vista has created.

Interesting. I installed vista on several computers and they work beautifully
I love my mac… Vista is really that bad ? Why?
Andrew
My guess is that Vista is simply a pig and doesn't work on a lot of the laptops that are not beefed up with the latest specs. We're running it on a lot of thinkpad x60's and they're only a year old. Yesterday I clocked 30 minutes of wasted time watching programs stop responding, and don't get me started on booting up and down which takes 10 minutes of my life away each time. Not sure how many of the early adopters had issues but this is one user now moving to apple for my personal use. Frankly it's been a long time coming with many a wasted hour on MS upgrades and other issues on my home network. And as all my computers are becoming geared towards entertainment the apple seems like a better platform.
