I think that it is normal that Oil prices are manipulated by OPEC, they are increasing the price for oil just to earn as much as possible and starting rumors like there is not enough oil.

Chuck:

As long as we are coming up with conspiracies...Don't you think it could be equally as likely, that the Global warming fanatics are behind this in order to further their "green" agenda?... Or possibly those who would benefit from the implementation of this new "green" technology? ie: c.f. light-bulbs, ethanol etc.

I'm not a conspiracy theorist by any means, but could it be a ploy by Bush/Cheney Cronies (oil companies) to drive up the price of oil in order to dupe the American Public into supporting more exploration off shore and in our wilderness areas?

Regulate and if necessary Nationalize OIL !!
Why should a vital commodity such as oil be controlled by the few who control the oil and gas industry? And lets get it on with some serious energy legislation. It's about time we think of our future and our kids future, and our planet too!
